RAIN!!!!


On Sunday, as if to truly usher in a new month and a new season, it rained for the first time in months. I was very happy... I adore rain, especially the smell. It makes me happy.

One of my favorite moments is just after the storm has stopped, the sun breaks through the storm clouds juuust a wee bit and shines down on the wet ground, making everything look fresh and new. It makes me happy.

Some people might think I'm crazy, but I love to stand outside in the rain and get soaking wet. No coat, no hood, no umbrella. Nothing shielding me... It's wonderful. I love how you get wet by degrees, not all at once. First it gets on your head and starts to dampen your hair. Then it soaks through your shirt, then aaaall the way down to your feet. And it's even better when the rain starts out falling lightly and then grows until it's pouring down bucketfulls. It makes me happy.

*sigh* I love fall and winter.

  • Fall and Winter rock the house, indeed. Especially Winter, but Fall is like the previews before the main feature of winter for me! Three cheers for the precipitation phase of the water cycle!!!

  • Indeed. I was thinking of you when I wrote this post, hehe. I think you're one of the few people I know who likes rain/fall/winter as much, if not more, than I do. *grin* Most people just look at me really weird when I say "I'm going to go stand in the rain!"

  • LOL!!!

    Drives my wife crazy when I hear the patter of rain for the first time in a long time, and I run outside to see and feel it.

    "CLOSE THE DOOR!!!"

    Or when it's raining, and I've got the window open, and I'm reading. That doesn't make her happy either. :) She gets cold easily, so I can understand it, but I can't help myself. :)

  • rofl!! Ah that sounds familiar... when it first starts raining, I love to throw open the window and just smeeeell... I love the smell of rain!! :D (So does my dog. He'll come sit beside me with his nose to the window. It's very cute.)

    lol, my sis gets cold very easily, too... but I am always so hot that she calls me the human oven. lol. I'm very warm-blooded, I guess. I'm just never cold...

    Example: I went the entirity of last winter with only dress sandles. No close-toed shoes. *shakes head*

    The only part of me that gets cold is my nose. In fact, Nathan Barlow says I'm the only person he knows who needs a nose-warmer and nothing else. *lol* True, true...

    *loves cold weather*

  • I wear shorts year-round. My wife calls me her human electric blanket. :) I wear my Teva's year round too.
