Book Review
Currently reading: Twilight by Stephanie Meyer “About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him—and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be—that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.”
For the past month or so, one of my best friends has been nagging and nagging me to read ‘Twilight’ by Stephanie Meyer. I was rather reluctant to do so, as I’ve never really read vampire stories and I definitely was not interested in reading a vampire story that is also an “I” book. (As a general rule, I don’t like “I” books…) However, my friend continued to bug me until I grudgingly put it on my library queue.
Now, you’re probably going: “Alright, alright, enough already… we know; you got the book, read it, and liked it.” Quite true… but don’t rain on my parade! Let me continue this gripping story…
Twilight came in at the library on a Thursday night. I glanced at the cover (see above), read the back (also see above), and decided: “Okay, maybe I will actually read this…”
Very wise decision, as it turns out.
I sat down that night and began reading… and continued to read until the wee hours of the morning. I was definitely not expecting it would fall into the very small category of books-I-cannot-put-down, but I was very quickly shown to be wrong. As
So, grudgingly, I set down the book and managed to force myself to sleep. Believe me, that was not an easy task. By
The next morning, after my biology class, I leapt back into bed and refused to set the book down until I finished it.
I must say, I was very sad when it ended… I wanted it to go on and on, but, alas, all good things come to an end, don’t they? However, I was very pleased that I had also requested the sequel (New Moon) at the library. The first chapter of aforementioned sequel is at the end of Twilight and I, foolishly, decided to read it.
Bad idea!
Talk about a major cliff-hanger ending… I was instantly ripping my hair out and counting how many days it would take for New Moon to come in. As it so happened, I was fifth in queue at the library, which meant that it could, technically, take as much as 15 weeks before it came in. By now, I’m only second in queue… so I shouldn’t have to wait too much longer. *whew*
However, back to the topic at hand!
If you were to ask me what I loved so much about Twilight, I would probably be unable to answer. My sister and I have decided that it’s one of those books that you just have to read for yourself. If I tried to describe it in more detail, you would probably think it either sounds a) incredibly stupid, or b) incredibly weird. It is neither, but I really cannot describe it without it sounding that way…
I think part of what I adored about it is how well Stephanie Meyer develops her characters. She does not do it with paragraph after paragraph of descriptions—in fact Bella, the main character, is never described past the fact that she has dark hair (although I have a very vivid mental picture of her nevertheless). To be honest, I really cannot describe how I got so attached to Edward, Bella, Charlie,
To bring this rather lengthy, uninformative review to a close, all I can say is that you should read it. It is highly enjoyable, and quite engrossing… My only suggestion is that, unless you have New Moon at the same time as you have Twilight, don’t read the chapter at the end of Twilight. You’ll *most likely* wish that you hadn’t…
Overall, it is a very enjoyable book to spend a day reading… Particularly if you're a fan of an unlikely, very abnormal romance. Or vampires.
I do believe I'll give it a 10/10. Excellent read!

What is an "I" Book? I am confused?
I personally love vampire stories. Can't get enough of them, really. While Anne Rice might be considered a little too salty for many people, her writing is compelling, and hey...it's about vampires. :)
I am very intrigued and think it was a fine review. It gave enough details to make me want to read it. :) Nice job.

lol, an "I" book is when the book is written from a first-person perspective. *nod* hehehe... I usually don't like them, but this one was an exception, hehe...
I haven't read any other vampire stories, but I do know that this one is very different. I mean, the vampires are different from the "normal" vampires. *nod* It's cool. ^_^
And thanks! =D If you do end up reading it, I hope you like it! ^_^

AHA!!!! I knew that. I was, er, uh...making sure you knew..er...what..uh...never mind.
I'll have to tell you and your sister the most brilliant idea I had for a prank. Gabe and I laughed a lot on the way home. You guys ought to get a kick out of it. It's definitely something you need to HEAR, though, so I'll have to wait until next Sunday to tell you. ;)
