Please forgive me while I do a little shameless advertising...

Blood Diamond re-opened in theaters today, and I would highly recommend that anyone who missed it previously go see it. It is an excellent film, and one that I definitely recommend--in spite of the harsh language and violence. For those of you who have not seen the trailer, you can find it here.

Hmm... I wonder if Warner Bros. will pay me for this ad? *wink*

  • I saw that Genevieve posted about Blood Diamond. I had actually not heard of it until you both mentioned it. I'll have to give it a look. You know, if it weren't for the fact that it costs the price of a new Saturn Sky to pickin' go to the movies, I might hear of these movies more often. lol.

    I may have to wait for it on video.

    Get this.....I never even saw Eragon. :( Whether or not the movie sucked compared to the books, that's almost as bad for a fantasy nut as not seeing Lord of the Rings. (I DID see those, and own the extended editions on DVD, of course.)

    I know what you mean! Ticket prices nowadays are insane. And they say it's movie piracy that's keeping people from coming to the theatre! LOL. That's a laugh... maybe it's because it costs an arm and a leg!!! Maybe??

    Really, though. Blood Diamond was definitely worth the $7. It's also a good length, so it actually feels like you're getting something for your money.

    Honestly, though. If you have half a chance to go see it, you should. It really is worth the little green men. *nod*

    You didn't miss much! Seriously. Eragon was one of the worst movies I have seen in a long time. It was really disappointing, because it should have been so cool! Thankfully, I went into it *knowing* that it was going to be horrible, so I wasn't too disappointed. I'm afraid the PG rating, coupled with the not-even-two-hour-running-time just did it in.

    There were also some of the cheesiest lines in movie history in that film. Yes, even worse then Star Wars. I just started laughing hysterically a couple of times: "That. Is. SO. CHEESY!!!"

    *shakes head*

    But yes. Blood Diamond, on the other hand, is amazing. I highly recommend that you see it. ^_^

  • Like you, I figured Eragon was going to be lousy. I had high hopes, but didn't expect much. HOWEVER, I am such a poor fantasy nerd that I didn't even make the attempt to see it. I hang my head in shame. Heck, I bought the Dungeons and Dragons movie. It wasn't the greatest, but wasn't the worst. lol. Anyway, Kim and I just don't get to the movies unless her parents want to takes us. lol. I'll try, though...I really will. :)

  • I thought it looked like a cool movie. But I'm buying a guitar and can't afford to buy a movie ticket. Now isn't that pathetic?

    Plus, I can't get a ride. . .
